End User Licence Agreement
Version 0.1.0 · Effective 2026-08-23 · Prior versions
Draft
This document is in draft form. The final version is being reviewed by our legal team and will replace this text before launch.
The left column is the agreement. The right column (“What it means”) is a plain-English guide only and does not form part of the agreement.
1. Licence grant
Capitalised terms used in this End User Licence have the meanings given in the Subscription Agreement. Subject to the Subscriber's current subscription, your continuing authorisation by the Subscriber, and your compliance with this End User Licence and the Website Terms of Service, OurCommons grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence, revocable in accordance with clause 4, to access and use the Platform solely for authorised work for the Subscriber and the strata schemes, bodies corporate or owners corporations for which the Subscriber has given you access.
This licence is for your individual use only. You must not assign, sublicense, share or transfer it, and no ownership or intellectual property rights in the platform, software, design, trade marks or documentation are transferred to you.
2. Restrictions
You must not: share, loan or disclose your login credentials or allow anyone else to use your account; access or use the platform for any strata scheme, body corporate, owners corporation, firm or building for which you have not been authorised by the Subscriber; scrape, crawl, harvest, bulk extract or copy platform data except through authorised export functions; bypass, disable or interfere with security, access controls, rate limits or usage controls; reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble or attempt to derive source code except to the extent such restriction cannot lawfully apply; or copy, modify, resell, lease, sublicense, white-label or otherwise commercially exploit the platform.
These restrictions apply during and after your access to the platform, to the extent they relate to OurCommons' intellectual property, confidential information, security, or unauthorised use of the platform.
3. Acceptable use
The acceptable-use rules in the Website Terms of Service apply to your individual use of the platform and are incorporated into this End User Licence by reference. Those rules are the central source for prohibited content, unlawful conduct, misuse of accounts and misuse of platform functionality.
If the Website Terms of Service are updated in accordance with their changes clause, the updated acceptable-use rules apply to your continued use of the platform from the effective date stated in those terms.
4. Termination of access
Your right to access and use the platform ends immediately when the Subscriber's subscription ends or when the Subscriber withdraws or changes your authorisation. Your account may also be suspended or closed in accordance with the Website Terms of Service if OurCommons reasonably believes your account is being used in breach of this End User Licence, the Website Terms of Service or applicable law.
Ending your access does not affect rights, restrictions or obligations that have already accrued, including obligations relating to credentials, confidentiality, unauthorised access, intellectual property, payment or other obligations owed by the Subscriber under the Subscription Agreement, and any provisions that by their nature should continue after access ends. Subscription termination, data export, retention and deletion are governed by the Subscription Agreement and Privacy Policy, not this End User Licence.
